The Scientist Always Questions
Anyone who has ever valued the observations readily available while working with scientists, understands one basic difference between a scientist and an engineer. The scientist asks “Why?”. The engineer asks “How?”. The scientist will understand the reason for a 15 foot diameter hole in the ground. The engineer will want to know how it happened. Scientists are refreshingly curious individuals. Their curiosity is the hallmark of their profession. Theirs is not just to know why. Theirs is also to know why the question even arose in the first place

Scientists Have The Answers
What scientists do with all those answers they manage to discover is find questions in the answers to their original question. There is nothing more interesting than observing a scientist bent over his lab bench. It’s an exercise in the awesome parameters of the scientific mind.

The Science Way of Life
The science way of life sees existence, behavior and death as an experiment. Thus, scientists nearly always have trouble with tenets of metaphysics, religion and most things supernatural. If an experiment cannot prove absolute existence, scientists find it unpalatable for human mental exercise. Yet, many scientists possess a most unique form of spiritualism similar to attempting actual control of the black hole of space. All scientific formula bears proof of a segment of the entire realm of science. For them, not the only proof. This is the science way of life: To know and understand that which is yet to be and find answers to questions relevant only to the experiment of existence

The Future and Science
The future for any scientist is the mechanism by which all innovation activates. The future is singularly important. Whereas, the present and past represent merely the barometer by which the scientist measures the future. Their formulaic equation is Future Equals Science.

In a smart house the various components (like shading, lighting, ventilation, heating and other electrical equipment)communicate with each other. For example: with one touch of a button you can automatically select the right atmosphere for a quiet evening at home cinema.

This house have energy-efficient equipment (green screen TVs, computers and electrical goods) but also things like a smart energy meter, a PV system and a charging station for an electric car. All components in the home are connected to KNX, a world standard for building automation.

Smart metering
Smart metering in the future will play a greater role in our homes. Smart meters will have a few years the existing electricity and gas meters to replace. The smart meter will be used for individual consumption of devices and also for generating power in the PV systems.

The intelligent house can then decide when to start the dishwasher or dryer, or to heat water in the boiler when electricity is cheapest. Ultimately, the smart meter the best electric car charging time for the determination.

Creators even considered a scenario where the devices also can be operated by electricity suppliers. Impulses through the power of network can at the cheapest rate heat the water in the boiler.

Already Solutions
We are still some years away from such scenarios. However, there are already solutions available. With some home automation systems all energy can be generated. Data can be read using software on computers or user apps on smartphones. The devices can be used only when you make your own program of actions. The intelligence of the house is made by their owners.

The most progress being made in the quest to decode the human genome is in finding genes linked to diseases. Scientists in the past few years have been able to scan DNA faster and with more precision that ever before. This has opened up a wave of information regarding cancer, diabetes, arthritis amongst others.

Six years ago, science completed one of the largest projects in human history – the identification of every building block within human DNA. Research during the following phases of the project have opened up new avenues by which scientists can discover information. Increased technological developments have also advanced the rate and exactness by which engineers can read the genetic coding. Much of the research projects for human DNA decoding today are isolated to the discovery of genetic disorders and diseases.

During 2008, research groups discovered genetic variants tied to prostate cancer. They also have found genetic coding for heart attacks, gallstones, multiple sclerosis and restless leg syndrome. Since 2005, 40 common diseases and traits have shown to have nearly 100 different DNA variants.

Scientists point to the fact that few rapid succession breakthroughs like this have occurred in the history of science or medicine. Unfortunately, most of the information gathered doesn’t allow scientists to prevent the diseases and developing treatments will take years.

However, the information does open up new doorways for the scientific community. One disease, macular degeneration, an age-related illness that is one of the leading causes of blindness has been linked to a gene that is linked to to proteins in the blood. This narrows the research field of what scientists need to look at to develop treatments.

In all, human DNA decoding progress is in its infancy, leaving years of work ahead for the scientific community. But the opportunities that have been developed already, have opened up new areas of research never thought possible.

Statistics show that employees are changing jobs more often than ever before. Constantly changing employees can be expensive for a company to continuously change uniforms and name tags every time a new employee joins a company. This revolving door workforce of today calls for some new ideas in company apparel and many companies have found utilizing a lanyard supply to be a cost-effective solution for modern businesses.

Many employers used to use button name badges or even shirts with stitched on names and gave them away to their employees when upon hiring them. Name tags made of plastic and metal tend to break very often or damage the uniforms and to even think of the cost of embroidered names on company shirts in this day and age would mean a ridiculous amount of money invested.

Keeping a lanyard supply makes it much easier. Employers that hire an employee and hand them a lanyard from their lanyard supply with a printed name badge inserted have invested very little to get their employee started. On average a lanyard supply of about a hundred pieces can be order for between one hundred and one hundred fifty dollars total. If the employee takes a job and never shows up for work, the employer is out, at the most, one dollar and fifty cents.

The other advantage of having a lanyard supply for your employee identification needs is that lanyards are very durable. Issuing clothing that will get worn and become unusable and name tags with small parts that can easily break will cause employers to be constantly reordering more supplies. A lanyard supply will generally last a long time and reduce the amount of times an employer will need to replenish their inventory.

The economy has been tough and smart businesses are looking for every potential way to cut down on their costs, including in their uniforms and name badges for employees. Keeping a lanyard supply on hand for the staff is a great way to cut down on unnecessary costs associated with operating a business where the length of time an employee spends with a company is constantly shrinking. They can be easily ordered online at an affordable cost that any business will be able to afford.

We’d like to thank Miss Sue Lang on this great article.

I was in college and didn’t really have anything going for me. I used those cheap silicon bracelets as a proxy for a personality; instead of actually being involved in school activities or actually supporting causes, I just bought wristbands that meant things to other people and co-opted the enthusiasm. I’m a pretty lazy guy. If I can cut corners supporting an issue, I will.

I got so addicted to wearing a different cheap silicon bracelets every day that I started buying them in bulk at the thrift shop. It got to the point that I didn’t even know what the colors represented or for what cause I was standing up. Just so long as I was standing up for something, I figured, people would give me the benefit of the doubt about being interesting. I remember having 20 cheap silicon bracelets on my desk one day and spending nearly an hour trying to decide which one I would wear. That day, I chose green.

I met a girl in class a few hours later who commented on my green wristband.

“You’re a vegetarian?,” she asked.
“What are you ta…yeah, I’m a vegetarian!” I realized that she was referring to my wristband mid-sentence.

We discussed our “mutual” interest for a while and she agreed to go out with me two nights later. I decided on red that night. Which was a mistake. The red wristband stood for the Butcher’s Union. We only had one date.

In the early spring of 2009, Comet Lulin appeared in the evening skies. If the sky was dark enough, this “Green Comet” could be seen without the assistance of either binoculars or telescope. Through binoculars, it appeared like a dim amorphous blob with a greenish hue. A telescope with a high-powered lens could pick up not only the comet’s head but also its two tails. Comets have always fascinated those on Earth who are fortunate to be able to see them. Streaking across the sky as they do, comets were called “stars with hair” by the Greek philosopher Aristotle. What are comets?

The nucleus of a comet is the solid part of the head. Around that nucleus and surrounding the tail is the coma, a halo of debris. Seen with the naked eye, it may seem that the comet has only one tail as it nears our planet and the sun. Actually, every comet has two tails. One of the tails is composed of gaseous vapors and points away from the sun. The other tail is composed of dust particles and ice crystals. This tail curves to correspond with the comet’s elliptical orbit.

Scientists have attempted to discover the composition of these “stars with hair”. In July 2005, they made a spacecraft impact the Tempel 1 comet hard enough for debris to be knocked off. Infrared photography showed some of the debris from the nucleus to be made of clay minerals as well as carbonates like that found in seashells. They also found silicates in crystal formations. The carbonates and clay minerals form when water is present. The silicates form when silicon heats to tremendous temperatures and then cools. The ice crystals in the tail and coma were extremely tiny, much less than a sixteenth of an inch in size. The Tempel 1 comet extended five miles with a width of three miles but most of that, about three quarters of the area, was empty space.

In January 2006, dust samples from Comet 81P/Wild 2 were analyzed. Some of the materials discovered were iron-nickel sulfide, chromium, and green olivine rock rich in magnesium and iron. There were no organic materials found.

A study of high-resolution spectrographs of Comet Boattini in 2008 showed materials scientists have seen in other comets: ice crystals, ethane, methane, methanol, formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, carbon monoxide, and C2H2 (a zinc finger family protein). Scientists are still attempting to analyze the composition of these celestial wonders.

With so many uncertainties in the future of the American economy, it’s difficult to ascertain which hot-button issue is the worse of many evils. Regardless of which issue personally affects each of us, one can’t argue with the very real concerns of how individual health insurance will look a year from now. So many unanswered questions, our political leaders bickering as though they’re a group of badly behaved two-year olds, each in the midst of his own temper tantrum and a new and controversial bill that leaves far more unanswered questions than the collective country is comfortable with.

The new bill, if passed, will fine American families who refuse to buy medical insurance, much like state laws now fine automobile drivers with insufficient or no insurance. With the potential of $1000 fines annually for families who don’t have or can’t afford medical insurance, it’s unclear as to what the purpose will serve. For the now 50 million-plus Americans with no health insurance, it’s certainly not because anyone is refusing it. It’s simply not an option when families are struggling to make their mortgage payments each month while keeping groceries in their cupboards. Who determines what “affordable” is remains to be seen as well and hasn’t been addressed, at least in the media, to sufficiently answer this and other questions.

With the clever name our equally clever political leaders have devised, “Shared Responsibility Payments”, the fines will be based on what the government defines as “affordable basic family medical coverage”. It’s the basic medical coverage now that’s responsible for 66% of all bankruptcies being filed in this country. It’s insufficient even when folks aren’t being forced to buy it and certainly not enough to keep people from going bankrupt.

As with most national programs, there’s always a saving grace that’s meant to address many variables associated with an across-the-board program. In this case, those families who are experiencing extreme hardships and cannot afford the basic family medical insurance premiums, a government exemption will be available with proper application. It’s not clear who will define “hardship cases” or what the guidelines might be. Whoever it is will have a tall order to fill with unemployment numbers that continue to climb, despite reassurances from these same government leaders that the recession is on the decline. Will a family who’s lost not only their jobs, but their homes and every possession they’ve worked for be enough to justify a hardship case? If so, look out – the line will definitely be long for those wishing to apply for the exemptions.

Medical insurance, or the lack of it, is certainly a priority in this country. But it stands to reason that a decline in unemployment will take greatly reduce those who have no health insurance, homes, groceries or automobiles to get to those jobs. Americans refusing medical insurance? That’s doubtful. It’s more like Americans refusing to allow the government to shove insufficient medical insurance that will serve very little purpose down their throats, especially when there are clothes to buy for the school year, food to put on the table and utilities that require immediate attention

In fact, the airport is also a prime destination because of the car rental agencies it offers for tourists to the region. People coming to this part of Queensland are often in need of car hire Coolangatta has plenty of options that are sure to please even the most discerning person.

One of the best ways to see the Gold Coast and much of its amazing scenery and surroundings is to travel around it by car. Therefore, since many people fly in to the area, they are in need of car rental. Coolangatta offers an excellent choice for finding a great deal on a car, since its airport has so many of the major car rental Coolangatta agencies available. A nice thing about dealing with a large car hire company is that many of them offer the option of picking up a car in one location, and returning it in a different one.

Being able to return your rental car elsewhere along the Gold Coast or outside of Coolangatta is a nice way to really get out and explore the area at your own leisure. Since you won’t have to worry about coming back the same way you came, you could theoretically begin your explorations in Coolangatta, then head north up the coast to Brisbane or even go as far as Mooloolaba. It all depends on how much time you have, and how far you want to go.

Another thing you need to take into consideration when renting a car in Coolangatta is what type of vehicle is right for you. A really fun way to experience the scenic coastline in this part of the country is to rent a convertible car. By putting the top down as you speed along the road, you can get the best possible view of everything. Also, the feeling of the wind blowing through your hair is sure to leave an indelible mark on your mind; you will never forget seeing the Gold Coast from the perspective of a convertible car.

If you are traveling with a larger group of people – such as a family – then a minivan or even a full sized van might be right for you. The car agencies in Coolangatta have plenty of family friendly options, allowing you and your traveling companions to spread out and get comfortable for your journey around the Gold Coast. You are sure to see that car hire in Coolangatta is simple and convenient.
